Lex Heilijgers Dutch painter and sculptor

Lex Heilijgers was born in Driebergen, the Netherlands, in 1949 and has been living in Utrecht since 1975. He is largely autodidact but also received training at Artibus, the Academy of visual arts in Utrecht, and at the Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam.
After a successful period with many exhibitons, years of severe stagnation in his work followed. In 2005 Lex has started
working in a large and very inspiring studio in Driebergen, some 16 km away from Utrecht. He works quietly and in private on a fresh and representative collection.
Since July 2015 Lex is represented by Agora Gallery, New York City. For his profile, see artisspectrum.
