The paintings are built up by applying oil paint layer over layer with a pallet knife. The transparent colours which thus arise reflect the typical texture of an old wall or sun-baked house. Bright colours are used rather than faint ones. Usually, several paintings are in process all at the same time. In the still lives, other materials are used besides oil paint, such as acrylic.
